Entry to 2013 IdeasTap Photographic Award (16-22). Inspired by Richard Avedon's portraiture work, this series consists of portraits of year 13 students of Cadbury Sixth Form College; their personality and future aspirations - showing the contrast between the two. Taken in the 'yearbook' style I aim to depict the subjects as being in the same level during this time of their lives regardless of what they hope to become in the future. The theme of 'Journey' is presented in this series as the portraits stand as the start of each of the sitter's journey through life - specifically their careers. I want these portraits to not only be a depiction of the sitters during their adolescence but also a reminder to older generations of their adolescence which will hopefully encourage old dreams and stir up the journey they once wanted to take on.
